Professor of English and Poet-in-Residence Gillian Conoley, author of seven collections of poetry and winner of the 2017 Shelley Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America, was featured in the Poetry Foundation’s "Poetry Now" podcast. She read her poem “In the Next Next World,” about the California wildfires. You can listen to Conoley reading the poem and find the text of the poem at Poetry Foundation: In the Next World. Composer, bassonist and professor in the School of Music at the State University of New York at Fredonia, Jamie Lee Sampson, created a composition and score for the poem in August at the Banff Centre in Canada, for tenor voice, harp and bassoon.
