Professor of English, and specialist in Medieval British literature, Dr. Brantley Bryant, recently gave a lecture  for the Sonoma County Libraries on "Sir Gawain and The Green Knight". This lecture for the general public introduces the six-hundred-year-old medieval poem that inspired this summer's film. Who is the Green Knight, and what does he mean? How does the poem relate to the turbulent time in which it was created? What changes does the film make in telling this story, and why?
