Music almna Nancy Hayashibara is the accompanist and vocal coach for choral classes at the Santa Rosa Junior College and was selected as SRJC's April employee of the month. Nancy graduated from Sonoma State with a BA in both music and fine art and says “Having a background in art and technology has helped immensely in my ability to contribute to the needs of the department. The job these days takes place at a piano keyboard and a computer keyboard. This combination of skills allows me to do sound editing and create the videos for the department. I also make practice tracks and arrangements that I share with the students and the broader musical community.”
Nancy was also recently awarded a grant from the Yerba Center for the Arts Artist Power Convenings. The Artist Power Convenings were a community investment strategy to build the capacity of artists and artist-led organizations in service of their communities.
